MINOR SOFTBALL DIVISIONS

U9 C House

Ages: 8-9

U9 Minor Softball is an introductory program designed to transition players from "Learn to Play" into a more structured game environment. The primary focus is on developing fundamental skills—hitting, throwing, and catching—while emphasizing fair play, teamwork, and fun.

Player Gear & Uniforms:

  • LCSA provides: Team jersey (player keeps)
  • Players must bring: Glove, a batting helmet with cage, and athletic/sweat/baseball pants (no jeans or shorts)
  • Footwear: Rubber cleats or running shoes

U11 C House

Ages: 10-11

U11 Minor Softball serves as a transition division for players typically aged 10 and 11. Building on the skills from the U9 program, U11 introduces more competitive game play—including player pitching—while maintaining a heavy emphasis on development and fair rotation.

Ages: 12-13

U13 Minor Softball is a significant developmental stage where the game transitions closer to full fastpitch rules. While skill-building remains a priority, this level introduces more advanced strategic elements.

Ages: 14-15

U15 Minor Softball marks a shift toward full competitive fastpitch rules. For the 2026 season, Softball BC has removed several Special Operating Rules (SORs) for the U15 level and above, aligning these divisions more closely with the Softball Canada Rulebook.
